Purpose: to explore critical understandings diverse communities, both inside and outside of New Mexico, that is inclusive of all people's experiences and histories related to, but not limited to, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, immigration, citizenship, heritage, language, and culture.

Research Activity: Unknown He/She-roes
Step 1: Review some of the links below.
Step 2: Select a famous leader/"unknown she-ro/hero", topic, or contribution to research.
Note: Can be someone from your family, community, church, school, etc....
Step 3: Create a Prezi or Powerpoint presentation w/ audio about your topic (5-7 mins max).
- should be about 10-15 slides
- no more than 3-4 bullets per slide
- be sure to include reference page at the end with links
Step 4: Save as YouTube video
Step 5: Upload to the ENLACE Level I (Student Projects)
Teaching ideas:
- Introduce NM links to whole class, work thru some of the links and outcomes.
- Create groups of 3-4
- Assign one of the following sections to each group
- Groups will review links provide as well as do their own research to discover stories, contributions, experiences, problems, and issues/
- Groups will attempt to interview people who identify with the group they are researching to gather primary data that will be audio recorded and archived.
